Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible centered, international, fellowship of Christians dedicated to the task of winning boys and girls to Christ. C.E.F.'s home office is in Warrenton, Missouri. Child Evangelism Fellowship began as a result of the vision of work of J. Irvin Overholtzer. In 1923, Mr. Overholtzer started Bible classes for boys and girls. His desire was to tell them how to be free from the guilt of sin. In 1937, Mr. Overholtzer responded in a greater way to God's burden for the children. Soon "Child Evangelism Fellowship" was incorporated as an organization in Chicago, Illinois. Since that time, Child Evangelism Fellowship has grown into a worldwide ministry, spreading to every state in the United States and to 150+ other countries. There are more than 800 national missionaries working with Child Evangelism Fellowship overseas. Child Evangelism Fellowship is incorporated at the national and state levels to provide leadership, training, and materials. Each state is made up of local areas of county chapters where most of the work of evangelizing, training, and establishing of children in local churches is done. Our purpose is to reach children, whom no one else is reaching, with the Gospel. We strive to build up these children through faithful and systematic teachings of God's Word and to encourage them in daily devotions, witnessing for the Lord, attending church regularly and having an active interest in missions. Child Evangelism Fellowship of Wake County received its charter in August 1969, and is know today as C.E.F. of the Greater Raleigh Area. We presently have six committee members in addition to a full-time director, Bob Fowler, and his wife Martha. Child Evangelism Fellowship is supported entirely through individual gifts of the lord's people and contributions from churches and church related groups. This is a faith work. Our policy is "Ask God and Tell His People." Our staff will gladly provide training for church workers, hold special meetings with the children, and provide guidance as the church extends it outreach programs. |

GREATER RALEIGH AREA COMMITTEE: We have a local committee that meets monthly to pray, discuss plans and make decisions that give direction and momentum to the local CEF ministry. It is also a way for churches and the ministry to stay closely connected by having a representative on the committee. We need more involvement. The five current members are: Chairman - Brian Weikert Vice Chairman - Connell Price Secretary - Archie Gunn Treasure - Tina Woodard Prayer Chairman - Kathy Price
